Michigan State Police and the Great Lakes Water Authority are investigating a potential cyberattack on a monitoring system at a water treatment facility in Detroit.

The incident occurred at the Northeast Water Treatment Plant, which has not compromised water quality.

GLWA, which manages water utilities in southeast Michigan, has increased security measures and is working with law enforcement on the case.

The investigation is ongoing, and the facility can handle 300 million gallons a day.

The breach is not connected to water treatment processes, and GLWA is taking precautions to ensure the safety of the plant.
